Kuro Libros strives to teach these important lessons with joy, humor, and openness, using Kuro the cat as a guide to help young readers understand who they are, where they came from, and how they contribute to the world.
Yvette Ramirez is a bilingual Cuban/Salvadorian whose culture was instilled in her by her family at a young age. As an adult, witnessing her friends struggle to teach their kids Spanish inspired Yvette to take action. After receiving a shocking cancer diagnosis, Yvette uprooted her life to follow her passion, developing the tools for children to learn Spanish at home with their families.
She feels strongly about inclusivity and aims to highlight the differences between Latin American cultures throughout her series. Mi Familia Cubana con Kuro is her first book.
Elsa is a Portuguese children’s illustrator with over 10 years of experience and more than 40 books under her belt. She has collaborated with authors, publishers, and brands worldwide, creating playful books filled with heart and humour.
Her goal is to bring stories to life through creative and engaging illustrations. Her work is whimsical, colourful, and full of charm, always aiming to spark joy and make the world a little brighter, one story at a time.
